272827 2004-09-16 06:26:00 How do I alter the menu appearances? My menus are transparent at this stage and I can't see where to change them to solid.

Cheers

Phil

272828 2004-09-16 06:28:00 What OS are you running? Are you running a custom theme? I take it you mean the Start > Programs menu? Jen C (20)

Is this "yes" to the running of a custom theme, or yes, it is your start menu which has become transparent?

AFAIK, XP does not natively allow transparent windows or menu's. Have you installed a third party program which does this, or it is an optional feature of your Graphic card software that you have played with? I think the nVidia software allows transparency from memory. Have a nosey in the options for that.

Thanks

Phil.

272832 2004-09-16 07:18:00 OK, so you do have a nVidia graphic card? The newer drivers for this allows for transparency. The options can be found under nView. Do you have a nVidia icon sitting in the systray beside the clock? Try double-clicking on this to open it up. Otherwise, have a look under the Control panel for a nVidia icon. Can't remember off the top of my head where it is, sorry. If you don't have nVidia card, perhaps you could tell us what you do have. Jen C (20)
