| 273021 | 2004-09-16 22:51:00 | Hi again - XP pro seems to have a problem adding a new folder. When I go - My Comp - select the drive - open a folder - now if I click on either "File" or "Create a new folder" it shuts Windows Explorer down and returns to the desktop. This is regardless of which drive or which folder. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |

| 273022 | 2004-09-16 23:01:00 | It sounds like something has been corrupted in the system files. Try running the System File Checker, you might need to have your XP installation CD handy for this. Go to Start > Run and enter in: sfc /scannow See if it finds any damaged files. You can find a description of the System File Checker here (support.microsoft.com). |
