273607 2004-09-19 23:43:00 i woulda thought at 480mb/s that's reasonably fast hows that compare to a ide drive ? drcspy (146)
273608 2004-09-20 00:28:00 Rob,

The read Write life issue got me thinking.

The O/S is read constantly but not written often.

Data is constantly Rewritten.

If 2 X cards were used, 1 for the O/S (small), and 1 for data (Larger).

Failure of the data drive due to short R/R cycle would not be a problem because of backup restore capeability.

273609 2004-09-20 00:54:00 Where can you buy 128MB drive for $30?
Mine cost $99 and you can buy them in Aus for about Aus$60.
I agree they are really expensive.
