273706 2004-09-19 03:48:00 hi guys, ive been lookin at past threads and seen that everyone suggests that mozilla firefox is the bast, so i downloaded it and i love it especially the tabs which is brilliant, but how ever, i have gmail notifier and when i click to check my inbox a new window of firefox opens and just goes to the gmail logon page, but in IE it goes straight to my inbox as i asked. is there a solution to this? oh and one more thing when a new window opens how do i get it to be a tab instead of a seperate window?
thanks for the help in advance

273707 2004-09-19 04:17:00 The extension you need is Tabbrowser Preferences 0.6.8. At the moment there are issues with Clearnet and I can't get to the url you need. Go to:

Tools/Extensions/Get More Extensions and find the one I have suggested.

Found another way:

273711 2004-09-19 09:27:00 I dunno . . . much as I love Firefox myself and use it alternately with Opera, in my view if you are going to frig around downloading all these extensions you may as well just get Opera which has a good deal of these features already built in so there's no need to hunt down and download extra extensions .

Not only that but if you check out the excellent tip pages linked from Opera's website you can learn how to tweak Opera to do much much more . All your settings can be backed up and used with each upgrade as well rather than be "broken" like Firefox's extensions often are .

One other thing - Opera (non-Java version) is 1MB smaller than Firefox to download as well . ;-)
