274039 2004-09-20 05:41:00 Nero can deal with nrg image files Spacemannz (808)
274040 2004-09-20 06:00:00 do want to open it or burn it to cd?

Its an Image of a cd and designed to be burnt to cd,giving an exact replica of the cd it was copied from,as mentioned Nero software can burn it to cd,giving u a usable cd .

Otherwise,Isobuster should be able to extract the contents without burning it to cd .

I count "cd" repeated 7 times, the average human brain wouldn't even bother counting .

Makes ya think doesn't it?

274041 2004-09-20 06:09:00 I just found a Red Hat Linux folder with three .nrg files on my schools network. If I burn these files to CD, i guess I have a free copy of RH9 then. Scattershot06 (4844)
274042 2004-09-20 06:15:00 .nrg is Neros specific designation for an ISO image. If you save any session from within Nero whether copied from a CD or simply arranging a complilation, some files for backup for eg, and you save it the default format is: whatever.nrg. I don't know if other burning programmes can read it, I guess some would but it's safer IMO to save the compilations as a .iso whether it's a Linux distro or just any old software.

274043 2004-09-20 06:21:00 Daemon Tools (www.daemon-tools.cc) can mount the image and you can browse it like a CD.
