2004-09-20 08:32:00 | Do you mean swap my CD ROM drive with another, if so my friend would want it back........ | Tribomb (5547) | |
2004-09-20 08:39:00 | Interesting. My burner hates battlefield, even though its the only drive i have that reads everything else (apart from DVD's and floppies). I think you are meaning Firmware, not drivers.

2004-09-20 11:40:00 | yep buddy , would be good to swap the ? defective drive with another and see if the problem is a hardware fault ... then you'd know if you have to replace the drive . I've had good experiences with Lite On CD drives in the past , but s'pose any can fail [ how old is the CD drive?] ...anyway LG seem fine and are dirt cheap , will be interested to see how things work out for you ... | KatiMike (242) | |
2004-09-20 12:56:00 | id say it is about 3-4 years old. | Tribomb (5547) | |
2004-09-20 13:45:00 | Hmmm, this just occurred to me.... I got the special edition DVD version of the Sims... My CD ROM is not a DVD ROM, and I think that the Sims disk is a DVD one! If that is right I hope I can change it for the other one! But then why wouldn't battlefield read earlier...... | Tribomb (5547) | |
2004-09-20 21:21:00 | hmmm... or you could replace the CD rom [ if faulty] with a DVD drive and keep the sims :) . They're quite a bit more expensive tho - $ 50 -60+ range I think | KatiMike (242) | |
2004-09-24 07:50:00 | I went back to the Gamesman and swaped it for the normal version, They were fine about it. I installed the game, and it will load the start screen and then the CD will keep spinning.... I have emailed Tech Support but they havent given me and helpful advice as of yet. | Tribomb (5547) | |
