274172 2004-09-20 14:19:00 Is there a simpler way to remove this virus other than going to the registry, etc and delete all those bits and pieces manually?

NAV 2002 detected this virus but unable to repair the file .

Details:

Object Name: C:\Windows\System32\bling . exe
Virus Name: W32 . Spybot . Worm

Cheers

274173 2004-09-20 14:32:00 Seems to be the way it's done unless you want to purchase a specific removal product like Pest Patrol, even then there seems to be some registry but not the long list as per symantics fix.

274174 2004-09-20 22:05:00 Trojan remover, which I use will do it for you, BUT its only a 30 day trial . If it isnt registered . It looks like it detects this worm just as Spybot . / IRC Trojan

If this is the one that affects P2P / kazaa .

It removes registry entries etc for known worms/trojans, and some spyware .

The reboot normally.

274178 2004-09-21 11:50:00 Here is a link to a very, very , very fast registry editer and general manipulator . I have used it to search for nasties in my registry and it works very well . When I got it I found a special version that worked in conjunction with RegEditX to enable really fast manipulation of the registry .
