| 274303 | 2004-09-21 04:58:00 | Am not at all a audio techo and need some help with this one please! Have used a RCA to 3.5mm cable to connect the L-R audio from my Sky decoder to the PC AC97-Line in. Have tested the input line to the PC on another device and both L-R appear to be balanced. However the audio is not balanced in the PC speakers - have tried all the volume settings and both speakers appear to test fine using the AC97 Audio configeration. Downloaded and reinstalled Realtek AC97 v 4.96. Is this a hardware or software problem? Assuming it is a standard stereo signal, have you looked at the settings in control panel? There are six playback balance controls in there for various inputs so that could be the problem. Click on audio >volume to see them. Cheers Billy 8-{) |

| 274310 | 2004-09-21 23:24:00 | I assume you have balanced output if you play a CD or use other audio sources? If so, can you try an alternative input such as microphone instead of line in? You might have to back the controls back a bit to stop overloading but it might bypass your problem. Eliminate as much as you can before splashing out on the new sound card. Cheers Billy 8-{) |
