| 1371369 | 2014-03-26 23:38:00 | Hi guys. Been using my DIL's Acer Aspire One, with Windows 7 Starter. I was given it to try and repair as she had a number of issues. All seems to be okay now, except it keeps bring up a pop up box saying, Please download latest version of Flash Player. Well I've downloaded, numerous times and run the uninstaller a few times also, but it keeps coming back. Any advice as to what I'm not doing right? And yes, before I get any comments, I know it's a piece of shXX, but thats what she wanted. I running a register copy of Malwarebytes, that did find heaps, cleaned out but still there. | 1371371 | 2014-03-27 00:27:00 | Not sure. Today was 1st time I had run it and it found 20 or 30 odd files, it said was malware. After removing Flash player I run C Cleaner, rebooted and run an install program direct from Adobe. I did it just before I loade question and just now message up again. |

| 1371373 | 2014-03-27 03:15:00 | Couple of things to try, go to adobes site, and test if its working OK. helpx.adobe.com And www.adobe.com If both those sites test out OK then its something on the site you are visiting thats causing the problem. |

| 1371374 | 2014-03-27 07:49:00 | I have had this same issue for a few months when websites inform me that Ineed to update/install Adobe Flash Player and offer the download and I know that my player is ok. If I accept their download I end up with all kinds of crapware added and have to spend time getting rid of it. Having been sucked in once I now ignore the popups. See Wanui's post. |

| 1371377 | 2014-03-28 05:30:00 | Flash is an odd sod in many ways. I can confirm as a fact from my own system that Flash does NOT immediately alert to updates being available. My own experience is that I get an alert that updates are available immediately after startup, but BEFORE my modem has negotiated a connection. Therefore it determined during the previous session (or earlier) that an update was available, but failed to alert me until a restart. Perhaps this behaviour is to allow the installer to work before any browsers are opened. Whatever the case, it is a stupid system, and is a horribly inefficient bit of coding. Even MS does better! |

| 1371378 | 2014-03-28 07:10:00 | If you are getting the message when using IE, it could be the same problem I had to day, sites saying you need the latest flash player ?? BUT it was installed. The fix was so easy it was embarrassing. :o Open IE, go to tools, untick ActiveX Filtering as well as anything else thats ticked -- Everything suddenly came to life. :) 5655 |
