1370966 2014-03-22 06:49:00 Hi Team

My son used my Skype logon some years back to contact a friend (with my permission) , and although I have since blocked access to avoid receiving calls when he is not here (and have provided his new details) I can't find a way to delete this contact completely and it comes up with a ghastly photo of the type only teenagers would use or appreciate. It is quite revolting, and I'd like to be shot of it, so is it possible to totally delete such a contact?

Cheers

1370967 2014-03-22 07:43:00 Right mouse click on the contact and choose "Remove from contacts". Did you try that?

I'm using the Linux version of Skype but I can't imagine it being very different.

Funnily enough, immediately after posting that query our daughter came on line from Melbourne and when I finally got off an hour later and went back to the problem contact, it had vanished, photo and all so I must have initiated something with all my fiddling about.

Thanks for the advice though, it is filed for future reference. I did not see any such option during my earlier attempts.

1370969 2014-03-25 03:49:00  They are back dammit!

They do not show in contacts on the LH side of the screen, but they do show elsewhere as blocked and their ugly mugs appear at the top of my screen.

There is no place or feature that I can find that will allow me to delete their stupid image at the top of my screen. I've right clicked every damned thing
except Prince Philip's jock strap but nothing is live, except that blasted photo!

Cheers

Maybe I have to unblock the contact to be able to delete them once and for all?

1370970 2014-03-25 03:58:00 According to the Skype community forum:

Blocking a contact does not, in and of itself, remove them from your contact list -- removing someone from your contact list is a separate process, and is rather trivial to accomplish -- simply right-click on the contact and select 'Remove from Contacts'

Unblocking someone does not return them to your contact list, but a blocked contact CAN remain on your contact list after they are blocked

But as I said in my 4:49 post above, right clicking on the contact does nothing, they don't appear on the contacts list down the LHS of the screen, but their ugly damned image appears with other contact images across the top of the screen.

I cannot find any active link that leads to an option to delete.

Even if I unblock them, the right click option to remove/delete them!

1370972 2014-03-25 09:06:00 As I was about to say before Mrs T called me away in mid-edit, unblocking and subsequent to that, right-clicking provided a raft of extra options, but nothing remotely resembling the option to delete.

1370973 2014-03-25 21:01:00 Is show outlook contacts ticked?? If it is, untick it. Looks like this maybe the prob if you cant delete the contact. It maybe an outlook contact, and by the looks of it, you cant delete contacts that were added from Outlook Speedy Gonzales (78)

Outlook Contacts is not ticked and I don't think this contact was from Outlook either, my son has always been Gmail. I'm getting to the stage where I'll delete/abandon the whole shebang and set up a new profile.
