1370781 2014-03-20 08:21:00 Got a strange one here with win 8 . 1 and IE11, both desktop and new versions . I get a server error from Computer Lounge when I try to access the 'Components' section . "Computerlounge . co . nz - Internal Server Error . We are sorry, but an error seems to have occured (sic) in the webpage that you were trying to load" .

All other sections are fine . I contacted CL but they weren't aware of anything wrong .

I did find a workaround by NOT enabling protected mode but that 'solution' is not working now . Worked the last few weeks but not tonight!

I have previously reinitialised IE11 via windows components and reset the options to no avail .

Guess I am the only one in the world with this absurdity! Come back Firefox, all is forgiven .

1370782 2014-03-20 08:45:00 Try F12 then select IE10 mode or earlier. It might work. CliveM (6007)

1370784 2014-03-20 09:32:00 Nah, emulation mode has no effect. Tried all vers. Thanks for checking. Damned frustrating as I can't see what else to try. Knew this was the only IE affected! Must say I am a bit surprised that the app IE behaves the same. Must be something common.

Hope you catch the b****tard who broke your app!! Turn your back for a second and look what happens.

1370785 2014-04-01 08:56:00 there will be a Windows Update for WIndows 8.1 and Windows 7 with IE11 called Enterprise Mode IE very shortly, that allows you to run IE11 in IE8 mode nmercer (3899)
1370786 2014-04-01 10:00:00 It's not that windows 8.1 DNS problem by any chance? I think that's what stopped me accessing the PCworld forums for a few days dugimodo (138)
1370787 2014-04-02 06:05:00 Having similar issues.. google did this for me and fixed

select then right click the network adapter that you are currently using and choose properties
select IP version 4 and click the properties button
near the bottom choose the radio button that says use the following DNS servers and type
8.8.8.8
and
8.8.4.4
OK your way back out of there and see if that helps

1370788 2014-04-02 08:23:00 Setting the DNS to google made no difference.

I disabled and re-enabled IE11 again. It fixed one problem (saying I need Flash Player to run YT vids) but the weird Computer Lounge components page error is still there.

1370789 2014-04-02 09:09:00 the DNS problem is a Technicolor Telecom modem problem not Windows 8.1 nmercer (3899)
1370790 2014-04-02 09:43:00 OK, I have found only one way to get the CL components page to display. Use InPrivate browsing.

Running iexplore.exe -extoff doesn't work.

Been avoiding deleting all caches/history as I just know what a pita it is entering all those passwords etc but have now done that. Still doesn't help. Grrrrr.

My Netbook with 8.1 on it doesn't have this problem and I have checked all its Internet Options settings against this comp and made them the same.
