| 1353178 | 2013-09-10 20:48:00 | Apple has now released the new iPhone 5S and 5C They seem good, at a glance... Apple's A7 and A6 chip, 8MP camera, 4inch widescreen 336 ppi, other features, and seemingly cheap, the iPhone 5C starting at $99 USD (16GB) Whats your thoughts? |

| 1353179 | 2013-09-10 21:22:00 | As far as I'm aware, the US$99 price for the 5C is only on contract in the US, with an unlocked retail price of US$549, which is only very marginally cheaper than a flagship Android product like the Galaxy S4 or HTC One I'm not sure I see the need for the product. As far as the details that have been released so far, the 5c is only marginally different from the 5 (same processor, same RAM, same.. just about everything). The 5S still has a low res screen and camera, will be interesting to see how the A7 64-bit chipset goes, though it still seems to be only dual-core - but apple claim it's nearly twice as fast as the A6 (which is what the 5 and 5C use). | inphinity (7274) | ||

| 1353181 | 2013-09-10 21:50:00 | It was always going to be underwhelming... it's been long rumoured that this was just a refresh of the 5. Next year will be a shiny new iphone6, which will be bigger etc etc. By then, who knows what Samsung (and the other Android manufacturers) will have on the market. |

Fingerprint unlocking will be a gimmick much like the Face Unlock for Android was, it's not *really* about security, but I suppose it's one of those features you'd talk to your friends about and maybe show off at the dinner table. Being cheaper is nice, but it'd be like buying a phone here in NZ for $150 on a $100 per month contract, when you could get something like the Nexus 4 for $300 outright and you're free to stick to your $19 a month prepaid plan. Makes sense for some, not for others, and not really that much cheaper either. A 64-bit CPU sounds nice, but last I checked the iPhone only had 1GB RAM... So I'm not entirely seeing the point? |

They're already behind from a technological perspective, I think they're scared to slow down lest they get left in the mud ;) |

| 1353187 | 2013-09-10 23:46:00 | This is why I have a windows phone. Because the manufacturers of Windows phones don't do this at all? What are people smoking these days... Jeez. |
