| 1352874 | 2013-09-05 12:41:00 | :devil You thought you'd lost me, but I'm back Hope everything has been well, I kinda upped and left once things got a bit sour when the Aussies invaded, claimed PF1 and everyone was ditching left right and centre to various other forums amidst clouds of dust. Anyway, I'm building a rig for my car so I can charge my phone and get audio out with one cable, I built a very nice cable but my old Galaxy S2 didn't like it, probably because it's a bit broken (couldn't get passive audio out to work unfortunately) so I'm thinking I might just use my New Oppo instead of the galaxy. The problem with the Oppo find 5, like most new phones, is it only does digital out so I'll need a DAC to get analogue sound. There's plenty of advice out there about what's good etc but I'm not looking for good, I'm looking for a super cheap DAC that will output acceptable quality audio. Doesn't need to be super flash, I'm using the original 1989 amp and head unit in the BMW and I'm only really looking for something that will put out the same quality as the 3.5mm headphone jack, not studio quality or anything like that, the unit will be stuffed into the dash too so I don't mind and "unfinished" looking electronics like this one www.ebay.com I've never really bought a DAC so if anyone can recommend one that would be a help. otherwise I'll just go buy the cheapest chips I can find. Cheers, TEG |
