2014-03-28 02:38:00 | Stay away from Vodafone at all costs. They are completely and utterly incompetent. We live in North Canterbury, and they tried to connect us to a phone number in Kaitaia. I was sold to them by Telstra Clear, with whom I had no problems for many years (prior to that, Paradise and earlier Cyberxpress). Once we ended up with Vodafone, everything went down the toilet. It tooks weeks, hours of phone calls, accusations by them that we were never home when they tried to connect (duh, in Kaitaia???) and one formal complaint before they honoured our existing contract (well, sort of). We got connected but the service was terrible and they had to get Chorus in to sort out their mess. Then the bills started coming in - since August or September last, they have been continuing to charge us for a call redirection fee of $22.94 per month for our old discontinued phone number. They have admitted this is wrong, but no-one thus far has been able to stop it. Secondly, part of our contract is payment of a flat monthly fee for unlimited national calls - here Vodafone are double dipping because they not only clip our ticket for the monthly fee, they still charge us for all of our national calls! Two months ago, I laid a formal complaint. One of their staff called to find out what I wanted - he clearly had not read our extensive file or all of the complaint. When I got part of his brain facing in the right direction, he said it was easy to sort out, he had been with Telstra Clear for years, and he knew exactly what to do. He would email me confirmation it was sorted. In fact, he did nothing. The next month's statement had no refunds for their double dipping and I am still being wrongly charged in both ways. I have sent in another formal complaint, this time addressed to the Chief Executive Officer (as if s/he will see it!). I posted that on 11 March and haven't had any response. The bastards have us over a barrel because of termination fees (which only apply to us, not to them when they are in breach of their contract with us) and a direct debit authority which we cannot cancel. They are able to continue to harvest our account for whatever they choose. I would strongly urge you not to join Vodafone, based on our experience.

Everybody's experience (or luck) is different as can be seen from the above. It's going to confuse you more if you were to take all the above views into consideration seriously. |

2014-03-28 03:59:00 | I would strongly urge you not to join Vodafone, based on our experience. I could give you cases with people who have had the exact same experience with Xtra. I've been with Telstra/Vodafone ever since it was available YEARS back when it was Paradise.net. When ever theres a been problem with either my own connection (which is just about never) or with customers its sorted within minutes. They now have a call back feature so I was informed today, I was told if you are on hold for longer than 10 minutes you can leave your details and they will call you back asap. I've now got a contact in vodafone ( since last year) , hes brilliant, a couple of times when contacting him with any problems a customer may have, could be something like plans wanting to change or upgrading, or even something simple like a password reset its done almost instantly. (or as soon as hes available) and I always get a mail or phone call back confirming the task has been done, 99% of the time the same day.

2014-03-28 18:43:00 | Or it's what you read. I also posted my experience with the power company recently. Got the Price Increase notice, but in fact mine goes down slightly. And with the insurance changes - sum insured on house. Got my notice a few weeks back, did my calculation, it was more than their estimate. Rang and had them change it - total insurance bill now is $7 less than what it was before. Telecom - as I said, it's been fine. Twice now when they have sent their your data will be doubled notice I rang and asked if I could have something else instead. The first time I got a discount for a year. This time I got a special cheaper cellphone plan (not one that is listed) and voice mail free for a year. I fixed the mortgage the other day.....he discounted the rate slightly and waived the fee. Ok?

2014-03-28 19:04:00 | The fridge died the other week too. (OMG another Murphys Law!) Well, it was ancient. Husband worried, OMG, cost of new fridge, perhaps he should dismantle it and fix it... No, where would we find parts? What would parts cost? How long would repair take - as he isn't practiced in fridge repairs... SO I bought another Frigidaire off Trademe. $50. Looked identical. Isn't - it's actually frostfree - as in the freezer part too. First totally frost free fridge I've had. And it's in perfect working order. So....bargain.
