1370647 2014-03-19 08:18:00 Yeah .. looking at a laser though (b/w). I was meaning that if you're using a non-Apple device it's probably using normal wireless protocol to print. If it was a Apple device then it would likely prefer AirPrint unless the user got the Canon Apple app. Nomad (952)
1370648 2014-03-19 08:25:00 If you've got an Iphone, (3GS or later), Ipad (all models), Ipod Touch,(3rd gen or later) or Mac, it looks like it supports Airprint natively. If the printer supports Airprint, it should print whatever. You dont need an app.

So you can print straight from the above

1370649 2014-03-19 08:32:00 Yep, bro looking at an iPad but I have an Android phone myself. It's useful to just beam over an email or an invoice into the printer. Yeah - natively Apple would use AirPrint. Hopefully they support lasers too. But .. AirPrint seems better than relying on the cloud though. Nomad (952)
1370650 2014-03-19 08:52:00 I wouldnt save anything to the cloud. You dont know where it'll end up ! Looks like there are ways to make a non-airprint printer wireless. And you can also print from an Ipad etc

Something similar to this (http://www.airprintactivation.com/). But you need Itunes and Bonjour (part of Itunes) for it to work

1370651 2014-03-19 22:26:00 Some Newer HP printers have similar function for printing from Andoids (via internet) , HP eprint

Other brands may now have similar or better options ?

This is worth a quick read

1370652 2014-03-19 23:15:00 Yep - cloud based too. Seems to be adhoc solutions. Androids / Google seems to be Internet with everything. Nomad (952)
1370653 2014-03-19 23:33:00 lol thats why I dont like installing programs like Chrome, it installs too much crap. And it's too intrusive Speedy Gonzales (78)

Not to mention all the crap it keeps putting in the users temp dir. You'd think that by now well supported programs should be able to clean up after themselves ;)

1370656 2014-03-20 18:57:00 I have a brother printer connected via ethernet, downloaded the brother print app and it works perfectly.
Have you tried using windows printer sharing and the Canon app?
