The manufacturers tend not to, the carriers are the bottleneck on Windows Phone. This is why I love New Zealand, we don't have that issue :D |

| 1353189 | 2013-09-11 00:00:00 | Because the manufacturers of Windows phones don't do this at all? What are people smoking these days... Jeez. Look, microsoft is shiffing to windows phone 8 BUT they are still providing support to windows phone 7 users like me with open app development and updates. Unlike apple who say if you don't have the latest iphone or the latest version of ios then f**k you buy a new device! (they pretty much can app support for older iphones if it doesnt have the latest version of ios which pretty much destroys the whole point of it being a smartphone. My little brother has a 2nd gen ipod touch and he can hardly use a single app on it because his version of ios isn't high enough) |

| 1353190 | 2013-09-11 00:58:00 | "Apple CEO Tim Cook predicted that iOS 7 would become the most popular mobile operating system in the world." (www.stuff.co.nz) I guess he HAS to say that.... But perhaps he's confident because most of the new features in iOS 7 are already present in Android OS.... |

Isn't a new flagship (1520) being released by the end of the month? So whats the release cycle length here? That's 3 years ago. Your little brother's 2nd gen Ipod touch was released over 5 years ago. You could install most apps on it till last year. I realise now, most apps require 4.3 (?iirc), but that is how it works. 3rd gen ipod touch is fine right? (And you can get around this, for the most part if you jailbreak find older IPAs) If you want a proper comparison, go see how well Symbian and Windows CE devices are supported today. |

The Lumia 1020 succeeded the Pureview (IIRC) 808. The 925 succeeds the 920. :) Not sure what the 1520 is meant to succeed... |

| 1353197 | 2013-09-11 03:13:00 | What are people smoking these days... Jeez. Holiday Red 20s usually... why? :D iPhone's are overrated. When it comes to apple no matter what you buy it will be outdated in 12 months or less and eventually (like the Gen 3 iPod as mentioned) will not be capable of running the updated iOS. I'll stick with the Nexus 4 for now and probably will until they bring out something uber amazing like, 3D video calling, to make me want to upgrade so bad! Not saying the N4 wont be outdated eventually - everything in technology eventually does. But it does all I need it to and more! |
