1352315 2013-08-29 06:40:00 Looks like I will probably settle on this one. Seems to have excellent specs (will order with 8GB RAM) but screen resolution could be better. It still looks ok on screen though. Price is $1348 plus accessories required.

Thanks for all the helpful suggestions guys.

1352316 2013-08-30 02:10:00 What are you doing that requires 8GB of ram out of interest? Ram isn't the magic bullet to make a machine quick. Alex B (15479)

The power supplies on the sat series seem to be rather flakey or my father is rough with them. Two laptops, 5 power supply's between them. This is over a 8 year period mind you

At the same time, my 5 year old Tosh has never missed a beat.

1352322 2013-08-31 06:06:00 Good news Cic. I have bought the Toshiba.

As a matter of interest I bought our daughter a Toshiba laptop many years ago when she went to Dunedin to do her Law degree. It was a Pentium P-something 75 Mhz. Slow as a wet week by today's standards, but cost me something about $5000!! They knew how to charge in those days. The machine successfully completed two degrees, and was then fit only for the scrap heap.
