1371087 2014-03-23 20:56:00 NOD32 says "Virus signature database ended with error" code is 0x101a.

NOD32 information says it could be because of an Internet connection problem and to see if any websites I frequent will not load. All my sites do load.

I also checked ESET's version update which returned advice that the version was up to date.

Any ideas or should I delete NOD32 and reinstall?

1371088 2014-03-23 22:46:00 There's a video here about it (kb.eset.com). Looks like you have to clear the update cache then restart Speedy Gonzales (78)
1371089 2014-03-24 02:11:00 Just open NOD and select 'update Virus signature'. It may just mean that its last auto update was interupted for some reason. My system will sometimes show a similar NOD error immediately after waking from sleep. CliveM (6007)
1371090 2014-03-24 04:22:00 Thanks Clive. I did try that and have now got so stuffed up I am going to do a clean install of Win 8 and ESET to clear it up.

My problem seems to go back to 21/3/2014. Drastic I know but I have time on my hands.

Well you can be pretty certain that will fix it Bryan :)

1371092 2014-03-24 20:16:00 I have installed my backup that contained the ESET error. I have applied Speedy's fix #2 above but without success. It looks like I just might be in for a long day if I want to use ESET again. To remove ESET I will need to download an uninstaller and apply it in Safe Mode. We'll see! Bryan (147)
1371093 2014-03-24 22:59:00 I downloaded ESET uninstaller to Desktop. Using Cmd Prompt Admin, I found my way into Safe Mode and ran the uninstaller. Rebooted, ESET was gone. I then downloaded and reinstalled ESET NOD32 anti-virus and all is good again.

What caused the problem I do not know but I suspect it could have been to do with having changed my network DNS to include Primary and Secondary IP addresses.
