The Working For Families Tax Credit is a con introduced by Labour with the aim of making more more captive voters. National is too chicken to wipe it for fear of upsetting the media and thus the voters.

What people do not seem to realise is that it is just the IRD/Government taking too much tax off them to start with, effectively charging an administration fee, and then giving some of the overcharged money back.

Why anyone who does not pay tax and does not work should get even more for doing nothing beats me.

Well actually Job seekers benefit is taxed.....
Although, yes....Working for Families.......my idea was it's meant to be for low income families...still nothing they do ever works out as intended.

And did anyone notice the tax rates have gone back up???

A tax on money given to you from tax paid by others is merely a reduction in the total ammount you receive. You can hardly think you are actually taxed if you do not earn anything.

This is it, nail on the head.
If they want a tax credit then get a job and actually pay some.
