| 274866 | 2004-09-23 07:06:00 | There is another thread asking how to open a flash file, and while reading it I wondered about making a flash file. How is it done / what software is necessary? What advantages/disadvantages do flash files have compared to avi or mpeg or animated gif's??? Thanks. |

Macromedia Flash (the program, not the player) is used to create .fla files when the .fla file is complete it is exported to a .swf file for playback In crude terms one builds a movie on a series of timelines similar to video editing It is primarily for web based movies & animations but is becoming more popular for serious multimedia authoring as the program develops. It is popular for webwork due to the very small file sizes it produces Hell, this is going to take ages & I'll still stuff it up My recommendation is go to www.macromedia.com download the Flash trial, do a google for tutorials sites & have a play around. There are also plenty of other alternatives to produce .swf' such as Swish |
