| 274759 | 2004-09-22 23:41:00 | I am running XP Pro and lately when I shutdown or restart it gets to the 'Please wait Saving your settings' stage and sits there about 5 - 10 minutes before the next stage of shut down. I have checked that nothing is still running. It goes fine the rest of the time but this is rather annoying! | Muzz (1286) | ||
| 274760 | 2004-09-23 00:00:00 | There are dozens of reasons why this could be happening Software conflicts, hardware drivers, USB problems, clearing the page file prefetch etc But 10 mins is a bit long Do a google on it & start reading through the screeds of info available & see if any of them apply to you. Can you remember when it started happening & if so had you installed any tweaking programs, video drivers, new USB devices, been hit by a virus, installed new software or games etc. that may help to track the cause down. |
