275209 2004-09-24 11:28:00 What are the main diffferences between Dual layer and Single(?) layer?

What is Dual layer?

What are the features to look for before buying one?

Are they all multi-zone?

Cheers

275210 2004-09-24 11:47:00 Single layer is 4.7 double layer is 8.5gb. U get more on the DVD, but the double layer blanks maybe a bit more than the single layered DVD's.

No i dont think theyre multizone. If you just want a DVD for playing DVD's I wouldnt bother with a DVD burner. Just get a normal DVD player.

Well its better if u get one that supports both DVD+ and - Most DVD burners also do CDR, and CDRW's etc.

Some standalone DVD players may not like the format u use.

Well the speed a DVD burner burns DVD's at helps. Altho 4x isnt too bad.

I use a 4x burner here. It only takes about 15-30 mins on this PC to burn a DVD.
