| 276527 | 2004-09-28 22:59:00 | Hi there, Just found out that Wired Country won't work for me because I am too far away from the tower, can see it but signal nearly non existent.. So I have to go with Jetstream, and will be looking a the 2Mbps plan on Oct 24th when it is launched.. So now I have a Nokia MW1122. I recently bought a nokia c110 wireless pcmcia card for it to enable its wireless properties. The card is 802.11b standards. Would a 802.11g card have worked with MW1122? Or does it need the specific Nokia card that Nokia recommends for it? I am just going to plug my current switch into the Nokias ethernet port so my home server, workstation and occasionally laptop can use it. My neighbour and I are going to share the connection wirelessly using mac addresses and encryption and software firewalls too. He will need a PCI 802.11b card for his desktop. He already has a laptop with integrated wifi.. need to find out if its a 802.11b or g. If it is a 802.11g , will it be able to use the 802.11b network? How compatible is 802.11b with 802.11g? Will they "see" each other |
