277204 2004-09-30 06:30:00 Hi,

I have a fujifilm S700 camera, and recently installed a USB 2.0 card and have just bought a 2.0 HUB to plug extra devices into it, when i connect the camera to the hub a message pops up telling me that I should connect it to a USB 2.0 device to obtain maximum speed, but I have the right hub and card i thought..... wondering why this might happen? and any way to check your USB speed?

Thanks

277205 2004-09-30 07:08:00 But - do you have a USB 2.0 cable?
That will limit your speed, if using a standard USB 1.1 cable.

277206 2004-09-30 07:32:00 Do you have any other USB2 Devices?

Are you USB2 Drivers installed? Or are they standard ones?

Though I presume that if you have a card then it will have USB2 Drivers by default... what OS are you running? If XP, do you have SP1?

277207 2004-09-30 08:12:00 I have the same experience and I just ignore it and my Fuji Camera just works fine. It may not go at superspeed but it is fast enough for me. I am using windows Xp and computer is Packard Bell with two USB connections at back and two down low in front. I just plug the cord from the camera into one of the USB sockets in the front and away we go. heaton (3697)
277208 2004-09-30 08:27:00 To see if USB 2.0 is actually working properly
Open Device Manager and expand the Universal Serial Bus section. There should be an ?Enhanced? USB host controller present.
I believe some boards need a driver update for USB 2.0 to work properly
Also some will need it enabled in the BIOS
Check your Motherboards site for updated drivers
There is also a troubleshooting section @ msoft.com (but I can't seem to find it at the mo')

This may help you

Only applicable if you don't have SP1 installed though I think

277210 2004-09-30 09:47:00 Hi,
Thanks for the responses

The USB connection works fine when I connect the camera directly into the USB card itself, it only comes up with that message when i connect it to the USB hub which is connected to the card... The HUB i bought is suppose to be 2.0 compliant as it states on the packaging..

Seems strange.....

any further advise?

277211 2004-09-30 23:35:00 Try pluging the hub into a different plug on the computer, either on the back or the front. Rob99 (151)
