277687 2004-10-02 05:05:00 I am looking at adding a quiz section to my website.....

my question is can any one point me to a well designed quiz page?

what design works best for you??

should it be only one question per page?
should the answers be by a drop down box or by check box?
do you just want a right or wrong per question or do you want to keep score?
how many questions are good?

thanks

Some multi choice some t/f y/n, answers via pop up/d-down may be classier.

Probably optional to keep score and save somewere, Maybe in cookie. (To comparrison/retest)

Small questions, colums or multiple lines on page.

complex larger questions 1 to a page (adds emphasis THINK no distractions)

277689 2004-10-02 05:43:00 so far all questions are either Y/N or T/F or mulit choice, very short questions.

i was thinking 10 questions picked at random from a pool of lots.

and as you say, scour by cookie.

Random dip is good.

Some may want area specific questions.

Going down a tree EG:

Hardware/Memory.

Hardware/CPU

ECT.

As it grows you may want to bring in levels.

Cookie memory for questions answered/answered incorrectly to retest failures and aviod repatition.

277691 2004-10-02 06:00:00 I've used php scripts for online quizzes in the past on different boards, you can get some free ones here, they work well & are easy to setup
