| 277285 | 2004-10-01 01:27:00 | Recently my sons computer started showing a strange bug. He runs a lot of games, on-line sometimes. Does a lot of installing and downloading. When he went to start one of his games, we got an error message..."The procedure entry point GetRawInputDeviceInfoW could not be found in dynamic link library USER32.DLL". We got the same message when trying to start several of his games. And a few games popped up a similar message. "The procedure entry point DdEntry1 could not be found in link library GDI32.dll". The rest of the system seems OK, everything works. We're running Windows 2000, which I re-installed and got the same results. With a P4 2.4 ghz CPU, 512 MB ddr, ATI 9800 Pro, 80 GB Maxtor HD. Any idea what went wrong?? .. or better yet, how do I fix it??. I'n not all that computer literate, but any advice would be much apreciated. A friend said it sounded like we got a virus, and a scan with Norton did find a Trojan Horse virus of some kind. I am still not sure it was a virus. Nothing else seems affected, and though he's been using the system for days since the error message apearde, it didn't seem to change or get worse. Is it time to format and partition ??
