| 277498 | 2004-10-03 00:28:00 | Here is another solution to the problem of lost/forgotten Administrator passwords. Ive tried it out this morning and it works a treat, and very easy to use. It works on either NTFS or FAT32, I only tried it on FAT32. All you really need to remember is the name of the Administrator account, and you can install either a blank or non blank password. It works by re-writing the Sam file. What you do is download a bootdisk iso image file, burn it to CD, and you're away. All the details are on this site I found via Experts-Exchange: home.eunet.no |

| 277501 | 2004-10-03 01:07:00 | 45, Oh dear, I had forgotten your post and didnt re-read it this morning. I thought I had found gold :). Oh well, I've confirmed it works, and that it is easy to do. I think dibbly that your system must must have had an admin account in there somewhere. Difficult to understand how it could have wiped itself. |

| 277503 | 2004-10-03 01:25:00 | what if there is no account with admin privs??? what would happen then? You don't need know the password & it won't actually show you the old one from memory. It's also better not to create a new password until back into windows, just let it delete any old ones then reboot I will stick my favourite password remover boot disk on ftp tomorrow for you to download, it's a no brainer, basically does everything for you all you do is press the enter key a couple of times & bingo. |
