2004-10-02 10:38:00 | Putting my new additional HD to use, I copied - not moved - my MP3s ( a lot of them) to a partition on the new drive and renamed the old folder 'My Music Old'. I then uninstalled Music Match Jukebox and reinstalled it, also to the new drive. Now all my MP3s have disappeared! The folders are where they should be. The new ones and the old ones; one for every CD, but they are empty. The MP3s are not visible in Explorer. Windows Search can't find them, neither can Norton Unerase Wizard. Music Match Jukebox cant find them either. What can I do? What happened? Vince

2004-10-02 11:45:00 | Did u PASTE them tho?? Copying wont do much without pasting them to the destination folder. If not and u reboot, they'll most probably disappear when u reboot. | Spacemannz (808) | |
2004-10-02 11:49:00 | No this would only happen if u cut then forgot to paste. You sure you didn't use cut and not copy?? | Spacemannz (808) | |
2004-10-02 11:50:00 | It woud appear that Music Match presumed ownership of the files and deleted them as part of the uninstall process. If it was me i would be making a hasty visit to their site and checking for a faq and suport...

2004-10-02 12:06:00 | According to the Musicmatch site. Deleting or uninstalling Musicmatch Jukebox does not delete the songs The music files you have recorded or downloaded that are displayed in the Music Library are stored separately from the Music Library on your hard disk. The entries in the Music Library are simply links to the actual music files. Since this is the case, uninstalling Musicmatch Jukebox or deleting the Music Library file will not delete the songs you have recorded or downloaded.
