| 277346 | 2004-10-01 08:28:00 | last week I reloaded ACT6. All seems well except when loading I told it not to load into the toolbar. When the computer boots up act opens automatically on top of everything. When I close it I am then greeted by the readme file (not asked for) and a choice window that says "do you really want to uninstall ACT and all its components. What on earth have I done to upset it like this? cheers Ojos |

| 277349 | 2004-10-23 03:55:00 | What operating system are you using? This may be an Installshield probelm more than an Act problem (or, the specific installer written for Act): Have a look here (consumer.installshield.com) to see if the installation has unloaded properly. Clean out your temp files as completely as you can. Right click the applicable hard drive in My Computer (usually C) choose Preoperties DisK Cleanup, ensure temp and internet files at least are ticked and hit the Cleanup button. Or, with Show all files checked in Exploere > Tools menu View tab, go to C:\Windows\Temp and delete all the contents of the folder. Delete the folder C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\engine from your PC. The next time Installshield runs it will update it or you could download a fresh Installshield Engine from Installshield (consumer.installshield.com). Post back if it works or otherwise. Installshield problems can be really tricky to fix. One I had triggered by Act 2001 could only be fixed by a fresh intsall of Win2k because msi (Microsoft/Windows Installer) was affected. Be prepared to get in to protracted troubleshooting of .dll files install engines (both windows and Installshield) registering files and the registry itself. Cheers Murray P |

You might think if it's good enough it will get plenty of attention anyway but doesn't always work that way. OK :) |
