277158 2004-09-30 10:17:00 When I run Internet Explorer to go on websites it always comes up with "No page display" or something. I can't remember. At the moment I am using a friends computer to check e-mail and go on the internet. I was wondering if it had something to do with the settings for the internet explorer. But I am connected to the internet and I still receive the message. Very frustrating.
Thanks

277160 2004-09-30 10:38:00 What version of Windows do you have? When did the problem begin? Do you have a firewall? If so, it may pay to check that the settings are not blocking IE. Susan B (19)
277161 2004-09-30 10:45:00 Does it actually dial-up? Can you get any traffic at all (e-mail, file-sharing, instant messaging) or is it just internet explorer.

Have you tried pinging something from the command prompt to see if you're getting any traffic in and out?

Have you tried your ISP helpdesk?

Disabled your firewall?

Have you added/removed/modified any software recently, particularly like SpyBot or other similar things?

277162 2004-09-30 10:46:00 I have windows XP which is recently installed and I don't have a firewall. The page always goes up on every website I try to go on. Even when I am connected to the internet. And how can I re-install Internet Explorer??? Thanks Mr. A (2222)
277163 2004-09-30 10:51:00 Do any pages come up with anything like about:blank??

I would run spybot or something and check for spyware.

If it is all traffic then reinstalling Internet Explorer won't fix it.

277166 2004-09-30 20:21:00 check for viruses .......if you dont have a firewall it's VERY likely you've picked up a virus which is chewing up your bandwidth sending itself out to all and sundry and not leaveing any bandwidth for you to surf with........running xp without a firewall is a recipie for disaster....... drcspy (146)
