| 277977 | 2004-10-03 12:32:00 | Hi Have just downloaded latest version of Firefox, and reinstalled my preferences. However, there seems to be miles of default bookmarks which I want shot of and have pushed my bookmarks way down the screen. Question: Will there be a problem if I get rid of most of them? eg. 2 Quick Searches folders that are almost identical: 1. Google quick search.....................2. Google quick search .....Dictionary.com Quick search.............Dictionary.com Quick search .....Stock symbol Quick search...............Stock symbol Quick search .....Wikipedia Quick search....................Using Firefox Quick search .....Urban dictionary...............................I'm feeling lucky Quick search The Firefox Crew Picks folder containing 15 bookmarks! The latest BBC headlines [currently 29 of them!] Firefox and Mozilla links folder. [ but will keep Firefox and Mozilla information folder.] The download of firefox 1.10.1 was a. 4.53MB, and once installed and added my favourite Noia Theme , 4 extensions, and my previous bookmarks, Firefox is now weighing in at 14.9MB which isn't too different from my previous version which was 14.56MB. It's still really fast and I enjoy it, but don't need that exhuberant and in my eyes, over-the-top influx of bookmarks. So please say it's OK to get the pruning shears out and go for it. Regards Marg. |

My last version lost the ability to bring up the dial up box and couldn't get it back up. This version has solved it and everything is well with the world again. Now for the pruning shears. Regards, Marg. PS: have installed TabBrowser Preferences extension but will need to figure out how to deal with it. I got confused and gave up. Everything comes up in tabs so not too worried. |
