| 277752 | 2004-10-03 00:27:00 | hi, when logged on (as admin) I cannot send emails from hotmail. This happens with IE and MYIE2 but not firebird. The strange thing is that if im on another computer or someone elses account I can send emails, and it doesnt matter which browser im using. I recently installed XP SP2, but if this was causing the problem wouldnt it affect all users on this computer? Im very puzzeled. dave. |

Mozilla have changed the name to Firefox and are now on v.1.0 Preview Release. Its got some cool features, such as live bookmarks. I hope someone can help you better than I can. |

Not terribly surprising as IE and MYIE2 are basically the same program with a skin. Your security settings in IE are probably incorrect - try setting it back to defaults. |

| 277755 | 2004-10-03 20:41:00 | I also have a problem with Hotmail. I just set up an account for a friend of mine, but when they try and access the mail through Outlook express they get an error saying they need to pay a subscription to use Outlook or Outlook express to access Hotmail. Now I don't have a paid subscription for msn but I can still access my hotmail account with outlook express, does anyone know why this is happening | Odin (227) | ||

I just read about it the other day. It is part of MS war against spam. The protocol used (VSR, Vam, RVM or something), I can't remember the name, is used by spammers. All existing users will be able to use it until sometime next year when they too will have to pay. |
