277635 2004-10-02 21:07:00 This would be so much easier if I had unlimited money.
*sigh*

LOL, george, I say that every day & I'm 3x your age, fact of life for most of us I'm afraid.
A good incentive to do well at school, get a good job (and a haircut probably):)& always have plenty of money!
Life Lesson over!

Best advice I can give is to have a scour around on Trademe, there are plenty of cheap options there.
Be sure to buy from a trader with lots of good feedback & get some advice from someone who knows what you're buying before you hand over the cash to make sure it will be suitable.
Write down the details & take them into your local PC shop & they should give you some help
Or post details of what you find & someone here will advise you

277636 2004-10-02 22:32:00 There is a 478 pin mobo that takes SD ram. I have one here. An ASUS P4B motherboard. It's doing nothing right now. As it has no RAM, no case. BUT I do have spare hdd's/NIC's, videocards, CPU's, and a monitor for it. Spacemannz (808)
277637 2004-10-02 22:56:00 Why not just get the PCI version of the 9200SE?? Pete O'Neil (250)

Because PCI graphics cards are sh*t.

And Spacemannz, I really like the sound of that motherboard, are you interested in selling it? And possible a 478 cpu?

E-mail me with prices if you are (or write them here).

or to put it another way its like using a 478 celeron or p4 in a mobo with sd ram installed. :-)

277640 2004-10-03 02:52:00 Hmm, yes you're right.

PC133 is 1GB/sec, whereas DDR400 is 3.2GB/sec.

PC is 1/3 the speed in other words.

Does the motherboard you have also take DDR? That would be perfect as I could upgrade when I could afford to.

277641 2004-10-03 03:24:00 quite frankly, dont even bother with the 9200se , my 9100 pro out performs it.

Just thought i would save you some money....

277642 2004-10-03 03:48:00 George its an ASUS P4B, with a 1 . 5 CPU on it at the mo ( Not Celeron) . I have got a 1 . 7 CPU here somewhere (also NOT a Celeron) .

I just have to find it lol . Umm it has 1 AGP port and 5 PCI slots .

The only thing is, it hasnt got the backpanel / IO panel .

Can't remember what I did with it! It MIGHT be here somewhere .

Its got the 2 COM ports on the back, the printer, and 2 USB and 2 USB onboard (USB 1 . 1 NOT 2 tho) . Umm and the rest of the mobo is like any other . I have the manual as well . Would you still want it without the I/O panel?? If I cant find it??
