278063 2004-10-04 04:35:00 I have been using a DSE USB 2.0 video capture adaptor for about three weeks. I just installed a Western Digital 120GB HDD and the capture device refuses to start on OS bootup.

The only way I can access the capture device is to manually disable
SATA in the BIOS. Obviously, there must be a drivers' conflict with the Silicone Image drivers.

Does anyone know of a work-around for this as continuing with the above is not an option. I will try for an answer with Dick Smith to see if I can find out the brand of the product for direct company communication.

278064 2004-10-04 05:32:00 That TV tuner should work. I use the same one in XP (the Deluxe tuner)

How big is the power supply. What does device manager say?? Any ? X's or other under any devices in Device Manager?

278065 2004-10-04 05:35:00 I was thinking the same thing - even with the old bundled drivers and apps mine worked.

I found that the bundled apps would crash randomly (ie. create error messages in XP) but updating the drivers and apps from the Leadtek site solved all problems!

278066 2004-10-04 06:23:00 Welcome to winfast unlisted conflicts in xp, it is interesting that your was set off by sata.

You could uninstall sata, create a new h/ware profile disable winfast in that profile, and then install sata in that profile but this may give you other issues.

It will be interesting to see what smiths have to say.

278067 2004-10-04 06:37:00 They work fine together. I use BOTH in this, with no prob at all.

Just as long as u download and install the latest tuner drivers/program it'll work.

278069 2004-10-04 06:44:00 NO. Unless ya system is screwed, it works. I've reformatted this thing bout 10 times lol. And it has always worked

Or unless ya system cant handle it or u have some kind of conflict.

278070 2004-10-04 07:01:00 How about a conflict that does not register that a lot of very expensive Tech's can NOT find.

All the components test perfectly. only wwhen all are toghter does the problem exist.

Winfast among others do not want to Know their answer get the new version.( of the Hardware when it is still under warranty).

Have you NEVER had a unit refuse to work with a particular piece of hardware, if not everything becomes self explanatory.

278071 2004-10-04 07:11:00 Nope I havent actually . Most probably coz I dont have a system like Dell/Compaq, or HP .

Only when that data is invalid error has come up, when trying to get a PCI card to work . BUT thats easy to fix . And when this CPU /12 died . After I found the power zapped it . I just replaced it under warranty .

Most techs wouldnt know a hell of a lot . Theyre just greedy for money .

I'll rather do it myself, if there were any conflicts .

278072 2004-10-04 07:53:00 What are you going to do when you strike an Asus, or Gigabyte product that does that to you.

Play with enough of them, it will happen.

If I must I will look back through my mags their is either a PC Authority or PC World article that documents the refusal of a combonation to function with a very good sound card they were testing on some very good hardware.

it happens.
