| 277931 | 2004-10-03 10:05:00 | I use Compupic and had trouble with corrupt files so I decided to delete the lot and start again with a new installation. But a couple of files refused to be deleted from the Compupic folder. "Remove the write protection" was the OS comment. Well I have tried Explorer and Total Commander (terrific program normally) to remove the files by changing the attribute - but no luck. I am running WinXP so am reluctant to try the old dodge of using my ancient DOS program XTGOLD. Help please!! | Thomas01 (317) | ||
| 277932 | 2004-10-03 10:10:00 | Open up a command prompt and navigate to the files. Open the task manager and shut down explorer.exe. Go back to the comand prompt and delete the files. Go back to the task manager and select new task and type explorer.exe. |

| 277937 | 2004-10-05 01:41:00 | Thank You chaps for the advice. I had a downloaded copy of Ztree, which isn’t free by the way, so I installed it and tried removing the files. No problem they went immediately. But to my surprise it couldn’t shift the folder. So just for fun I tried Total Commander which this time deleted the folder. That meant I didn’t have to try the other advice I was given. I now have another problem (that’s typical of my life) which I have entered under “scanner”. |

| 277938 | 2004-10-05 02:24:00 | Oops :8} Sorry if I put you crook there Thomas, ZTree was free for an extended trial period when I originally downloaded it, but being so pleased to get a replacement for XTree I paid up anyway. It probably still lacks an Oops function, you have to configure the Zip function yourself and it goes off the MS for its dos text editor but apart from that it is equally as good as XTree ever was, and the XTree manual is still applicable!
