277848 2004-10-03 09:37:00 Mine runs at 34 at full load, 29 idle, and it's overclocked.

But AMDs run a lot hotter than Celerons

277849 2004-10-03 10:14:00 Somebody used a thermal pad :p

Have you got an NForce2 motherboard???

Install the NF2 cooling patch (http://www.newgenerationorder.org/) (scroll down the page till you find it) and it lowers your idle temps down considerably.

What a load of bollocks, get up with the play and stop living in the past. You'll actually find that the new Celeron D's based on the prescott run hotter than the Athlon.

277851 2004-10-04 05:50:00 I would start getting worried at 70c HadO (796)
277852 2004-10-04 06:38:00 if you dont overclock, but use lots of cooling things to make your cpu cooler than normal. would it perform better? or doesn't it matter how hot it gets until a certain limit (e.g 90c) Nighthawk (5846)
277853 2004-10-04 08:22:00 i dont think so but cooling does prevent the systen crashing
CPU COOL PATCH is the best reduced my idle temp down by 8 Deg - I think anyone with nforce 2 should get it
