| 277619 | 2004-10-02 14:08:00 | Hi all night owls, I have a P4 3.2 ghz running win xp with sp2 installed. I have 512 mb of ram and 128 mbs of video card. I have installed the game Battlefield 1942 GOTYE. the game plays ok, but when I exit I get the message that windows virtual memory is too low. is this a big prob ? and can I fix it ? I have a 160g hdd. Second prob is Outlook express, when I exit it, I get the dialogue box with this message :Outlook Express can compact messages, this may take a few mins. Why does this happen as I delete all emails once I have read them. I have folders with some emails in them but very few, so why the big deal with compacting files when there arnt any to compress, or am I missing something here. thanks to all in advance who can help me out on this long dark night. J:) |

| 277620 | 2004-10-02 14:24:00 | Virtual memory warnings refer to the resources available to the OS ,not the size of your HD,from your specs you should not be getting any such msg, unless you have restricted the size of your swap file....which is something quite a few people recomend to enhance performance,it does no such thing,Make sure its set to let windows handle it. Otherwise,You most probally have a boat load of programs running in the background, half of which are likely to be spyware, and the rest bloatware. As to OE asking to compact messages, that will be because its set to do so,untick the appropiate box under options and it will be sorted. |
