278393 2004-10-05 04:43:00 Just decided to install SP2.

It installed fine with no apparent problems.

I re-started and then got into trouble:

1) Boot screen was modifed to have blue squares and it took the "home edition" bit away (though this is not as much a problem as what followed):

2) After about 3 seconds of this new screen, the computer stops, and says "IRQL_NOT_good enough for you, please restart...." (or whatever).

Anyway, so I restarted again, it did the same thing. Tried safe mode like it said, did the same thing.

Not sure what to do at the moment, as usual with microsoft's products.

Any help much appreciated

yea I forgot what the message was so I just put that,

the official one is "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL"

Although the problem was fixed by unplugging my mouse....... (crazy)

Even so I was annoyed at the new bootscreen so I uninstalled it.

278396 2004-10-05 06:56:00 That error, "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" has been mentioned a few times in respect to SP2 installs. Throw it into the forum's search and see if what has been said about it is of any help to you. Susan B (19)
