| 278280 | 2004-10-04 21:52:00 | I am about to upgrade a PC running NT to XP Pro. Does anyone know of any issues with this. Because of the programs already installed I would rather not do a clean install at this time. |

NT primary partition has to be NTFS or Fat, there is a driver which enables NT to operate Fat32 partitions, but the active primary has to be NTFS or Fat. The Fat format is limited to a partition of 2gigs. XP supports NTFS & Fat32. I suggest that you do a double boot, keep the NT system to use while you develop the XP. Once you have XP running with all software installed, you can remove the NT. You need a fairly big hard drive. What size does your Bios support? 256meg Ram is fine. |
