OK, Jen C, I tried to compress it for Gimmee, just as a trial, since he is a tad short of processing power at the moment. I tried gzip, tar ARJ, ARC, RAR, ZIP, Pkzip, but it doesn't seem to post too well. Thinking about small file sizes, I tried a photo of the monitor with the camera on a very low resolution, then put the jpeg to the lowest resolution but it still doesn't post. I will try again using flat batteries in the camera and see if that will shrink it. Maybe I should try with a slower processor and a smaller PSU in the 'puter and see what that does. R2 |

| 278275 | 2004-10-05 00:32:00 | Nah I didn't flash the chaintech motherboard with the wrong bios. The motherboard and cpu are only about 2 years old which in computing terms is old but thought it would be fine for SP2. Please note my 350Mhz and the 200Mhz old computers were never touched on the operating system side. Still running win98SE on those. Should I post a separate message for experiences repairing the computers? | Gimmee (6238) | ||

| 278278 | 2004-10-05 05:06:00 | Dont worry about it Gimme @#$% happens. I worked with helicopters and some days we had none out eight that were servicable to fly. As far as computers go they are an accident waiting to happen. Every time I have tried to play around with hardware it turns to guano. I still have a memory card reader which wont install on w98 and a simcard reader which keeps saying my names should be in chinese. I have a webcam that has to be unplugged every time to get it to work. I have posted my computer problems here but most of the time you need to go to newsgroups. They have proffessionals paid by by companies to help you out. tedheath |
