278199 2004-10-05 03:19:00 Peter,

The woosh second generation modem allthough USB must use a USB to ETH cable because the supplyer can't be bothered making USB drivers available. Citeing low demand in market.

When connected to ETH plays perfectly well and is still quiet mobile in the 50k free zone.

278201 2004-10-05 04:09:00 I _know_ there is drivers for the Alcatel SpeedTouch for sure.

Not too sure about others, but dont most have the option for an RJ45 connection also?

Post the details of it and we'll be able to let you know!

Peter,

Yes.

That comment was FYI, and any body else who may be curious, hence addresed to you personally. as opposed to the poster.

Several USB modems can be made to work in this way for Nix, I believe.

278204 2004-10-05 05:13:00 Rpg, IMO, you'd be better off conecting the modem via ethernet. Better for both Linux and windows. in fact very little setup either.
