278388 2004-10-05 04:04:00 Hello
Does anyone know if you can get a firmware upgrade for an AIC-7850? And if it supports CD-ROM booting.
I have on old Digital 133mhz that i want to try linux on, but it wont boot off any floppys.

If you can help me in either of these, thanks

If your BIOS supports boot from SCSI then you should be able to boot from a CDROM.

278390 2004-10-05 04:36:00 It doesnt boot off a IDE cdrom. It does boot off scsi, all the drives in it are scsi (3x4gb). I am using a convertor from its size scsi to a smaller one, but ill try my old fat cable now.
