| 278778 | 2004-10-06 22:47:00 | Hi all, I got a server which was running on 2 x scsi hdd. The primary hdd was removed. I would like to make the secondary as primary and also would like to install an IDE cd rom. When I set my Bios to detect IDE Cd rom, the C drive (SCSI hdd) can be recognised. If I set the Bios not to detect IDE CD rom, the c drive (SCSI hdd) can be accessed again. Why is that? What should I set in the Bios? My server is a Pentium PII, Midi Tower file Server, 350Mhz MMX speed, 64mb's memory, 4.3Gb SCSI Hard disk drive, SCSI Controller Card (Model: PM-2041W DPT). Hard drive has been formated and no OS is loaded. |

If you have removed the primary HDD then you will need to change the jumpers on the hard drive itself so that it is the primary rather than slave drive which is probably is at the moment. |
