278793 2004-10-06 22:00:00 I've got a Nokia 5125 (yeah I know it's old but it works and if it ain't broken, why worry). On the basic logon screen, the little envelope showing a message of any kind is permanently displayed even with no messages anywhere - not voice/mail/email - everything erased. Previously this little envelope disappeared with no messages, but the last month or two it stays there. Any ideas how to get rid of it?

278794 2004-10-06 23:08:00 hi,

this problem effects everyone of these phones i have seen. its just one of those quirks that some phones have. I believe using the delete all function for the inbox works, but thats not the best solution really huh.

new phone time maybe?
dave.

278795 2004-10-06 23:15:00 yup delete all works but the envelope stays like its glued on

new phone - probably not - work phone and $$$$ notoriously difficult to get.

Thanks Dave

278797 2004-10-06 23:44:00 I had this problem with my Alcatel Phone - the appointment sign would stay on the screen also I couldnt get it to set up any other appointments). I put the battery in a plastic bag in the freezer overnight and it cleared it and hasn't happened again. Ladybug (3129)

Once again my name in vain but WTF?

The battery shouldn't have had any impact on this.

278799 2004-10-07 00:45:00 I fixed my mobile yesterday by pounding it with my largest screwdriver untill it was smashed, then i deposited in a fire,

Now i have a sinfully gay looking erricson with buttons to small for my fingers and which when held to my ear is about 7 inches away from my mouth

278801 2004-10-07 02:45:00 Well I guess I should have said the Back half of my phone where the battery pack is not a battery as in AA.

Hey I tried it and it work for me ok

Any "cure" effected would have been from leaving the battery off the phone for an extended period (allowing the supercap in the phone to fully discharge and volatile settings to be lost) and nothing whatever to do with freezing the battery, in my opinion.
