278738 2004-10-06 08:30:00 This is all hypothetical as I have all legit S/W.

Sp2 does (so they say) not work with pirate S/W XP.

If a pitate disk is slipstreamed with a legit sp2.

will it reinstall/install and perform as normal?

278739 2004-10-06 08:36:00 You mean slipstreaming SP2 into a Corporate Edition of XP Pro? I hear it does work.

If this is so.

Does it not make the exersise of preventing SP2 working on questionable S/W rather point less.

278741 2004-10-06 09:21:00 Yes it will slipstream perfectly, SP2 doesn't know it's an illegal copy until you punch the numbers in upon installation
Try inputting one of the 'devils own numbers' & you'll get told where to go.
Input a legal number & installation will proceed.
It' not the corporate version that's illegal it's the numbers used, that are blacklisted

So therefore the Black List must be "IN" Sp2.

So it can be found and edited?

278743 2004-10-06 09:30:00 yes the illegal codes are built into SP2
if you find it, you're one of the worlds best decryptors & you're in the wrong job

278744 2004-10-06 09:30:00 Anyone can find a k*yg*n to make dozens of keys if they want.

There are also heaps of instructions on how to change an already installed XP's key, MS even have instructions for this.

Yes everbody knows this, but the thread subject isn't about changing keys on an existing installation, nor is it about keygens, it's about slipstreaming SP2 with a corporate version prior to installation.

This is genuinely hypothetical.

In sp2 there is a long but finite list, (Much smaller than in the full o/s) so have M/s not made the exersise easier to find the file/files containing said inf and work on said.

Perhaps the genuine Pirates may fight back and list a free to all version of sp2.

278747 2004-10-06 09:43:00 They only blocked 20 keys.....The current sp2 is a free to all version. metla (154)
