I am not a hard-core overclocker and would never even attempt such an overclock. > Getting 2.8GHz > out of a 2.4GHz Cellery D should be a walk in the > park, but it wont be overally difficult to get 2.4GHz > out of the P4 either. Yep. 2.8Ghz is what I will be going for. Walk in the park sounds good. > At the same speed the P4 should > be noticable faster due to the extra lvl2 cache. Yes I agree. But these are definitely not the same speed. As per benchmark. Also the P4 is used, and more expensive. > Talking to local overclockers i know many had there > 1.8A's at 2.5GHz easily, taking into account when > they were doing this they didnt have the quality > chipset we have today. I think I would be happy with either (I chose the Celeron). > At stock the Celeron might have a higher FSB but > thats not a big deal as overclocking soon fixes that. > One benefit the P4 has over the Cellery is the extra > 256k of Lvl2 cache. Sure thing mate: www.jgih.com Uploaded from www.anandtech.com to my site. If you would like to know, the motherboard I used is this (www.foxconnchannel.com). If you want one I sell them for $106.65. It has 'SuperStep', so you can change the FSB in 1Mhz jumps. It also fully supports Celeron D and Prescott processors. Remember, I have already passed my opportunity for the 1.8A and am getting the Celeron, so this thread is now theoretical. Aka, no longer urgent. Cheers. |
