| 278437 | 2004-10-05 18:47:00 | I am also beginning to get disillusioned with Paradise. Bring back Shane Cole, ah the good old pre-Saturn/Telstra/Clear days!!!!!!!!!!! Here is part of what I wrote to them at the beginning of August when changing to 256k/3G Surf: "Now as regards your pricing for this plan, you charge $10 per period more than other ISPs eg Orcon, or Xtra. What can you offer me as an incentive to stay with you, bearing in mind I have been a customer of Paradise since 1998?? Can you match the lower price? Could you match their lower prices for the 10G plan also if I decided that would be better for me than 3G?" Here is what they replied, and remember, by end of the month, they mean the end of August: "Currently, we are finalising out Jetstream re-sale offering and hope to have full details on prices, plans and how the change will take effect out to all Paradise customers by the end of the month. I do not have specific pricing yet but they will be competitive with other ISPs, if not slighly better. In the meantime, I have added your name to a priority list to be contacted as soon as all information is available. Thank you for your patience!" I have written again reminding them of the above statements, but they have not deigned to reply. I could have joined up with Orcon for $10 less. |

If your a business you probably wouldn't have to change the address anyway, because you'd probably have a domain so you could just forward the mail on from that to your new orcon one, or however you do it. |

| 278439 | 2004-10-05 20:28:00 | I was also with Paradise when I had dial-up. I remember reading an interview with a Paradise spokesman some 4 or 5 months ago in which he essentially said that they knew they were $10 pm dearer than anyone else but they had no plans to change as they were sure that their customers would continue to pay for superior service. I think they re simply banking on inertia and the reluctance that people have about tackling the issues of changing their ISP. Well at $120 pa they are on a loser and I changed to Xtra when I went ADSL. |
