| 279162 | 2004-10-09 06:18:00 | Hi I have spent hours getting ICS working. THe last things I did was put Zonealarm pro on both computers and configured the XP machine as the gateway. I used the automatic options when configuring the TCP/IP thinigies I used winxp to create a network configuration disk which I then used on my Win98 machine. I made sure that the network was the same on both computer. Mine is called "family" If a computer can't see itsself when you go into Network Neigborhood or (my network places on XP) and then "computers near me" then you have something wrong on the machine. If the computer can only see itself and not the other computer, then you have something wrong on the network. Not that don't forget to make sure that the local network is "enabled" Mine disables itself from time to time for no obvious reason (to me at least). ICS is a ***** and I have spent nigh on two years fiddlling and to be perfectly honest I don't really know why it works this week but not last |
