279231 2004-10-08 07:25:00 Have just bought a Asus L45ooR Laptop in July with Xp pro sp1. Since having it i may have used DVD -R/RW once, but when sp2 came out i backed up my documents with no probs. Since installing Sp2,I tried to copy to a CDRW and it would work kept coming up with " Can not complete the CD writing wizard". I tried Microsofts KB support site and found this 324129 article then down to specific errors. I tried the recommendation, but not luck, still not writing and comes up with same error. I uninstalled SP2 and installed new Nero 63125 and InCd download from Nero...still wont work. Can anybody help? jabba (3215)

Is this still under warranty,

Possibly The M/S Patches have "Modified" one of the original Dvd drivers.

If it is still warrantied you should possibly have the supplier check all H/W before playing too much.

279233 2004-10-08 07:56:00 Fire up nero,up the top where you select which drive to use,do any show up in there?,and if so are they correctly named?

Also bear in mind the first step they will take under warrenty is to run the recovery procedure, might as well back up your data and do it yourself before sending it away.

279236 2004-10-08 20:56:00 Did u disable XP's builtin burning. To see if INCD worked by itself??

The builtin cd burning isnt that great.

279238 2004-10-09 00:29:00 Its not SP2's fault. Its what your'e using. You just need a better program to burn with. Spacemannz (808)
279239 2004-10-09 00:59:00 uh....what pray tell is better then Nero? metla (154)
279240 2004-10-09 01:06:00 Directcd / CD Creator is just as good for data files / backing up files / mp3's / dvd. Spacemannz (808)
