1371917 2014-04-04 19:50:00 Hi guys, am fixing a computer for an intellectual disabled girl, its a HP compac dc7800 computer. When I first played around with it it started up as normal, did a few tests etc, cccleaner, no issues, no antivirus was installed so used a free one, scanned no issues. The mother reckons the computer freeezes at times. She also said that when start up the computer makes a beeping noise red flashes and the fans inside blowing hard. This problem did not occur until this morning!!
It is turned off for now until I can find out what to do next.... The beeps were either 2...or 4
Any help fixing would be appreciated so I can take this PC back to the girl.....Thank you for the posts in advance

1371918 2014-04-04 20:06:00 Go to the startup tab in ccleaner. Save to text file. Do the same for uninstall. Copy and paste both here. We'll see whats installed and whats in startup Speedy Gonzales (78)
1371919 2014-04-04 20:11:00 Hi Speedy, just refitted the ram, turned it on.... did not boot..... after a while..... it came up with 1 beep mark1978 (13845)
1371920 2014-04-04 20:14:00 The beeps could be ram related. If there's more than 1 stick, remove the rest. Leave one in. See which slots lets it boot Speedy Gonzales (78)
1371921 2014-04-04 20:17:00 removed 2 sticks of ram... same thing.... 1 beep.... mark1978 (13845)

1371925 2014-04-04 20:28:00 The battery in it maybe flat / dead. If it keeps resetting itself. Replace it Speedy Gonzales (78)
1371926 2014-04-04 20:29:00 but if it would be flat.... it would not hold the information in the BIOS? mark1978 (13845)
